Exact Announces Web Console for iWatch™
Exact Solutions, the market leader in SQL query-level performance monitoring, has announced the addition of a web-based console for the company’s flagship SQL performance monitor, iWatch™. The new web console is expected to simplify administration of large iWatch deployments, while adding aggregated summary-level views and the convenience of browser-based access to iWatch performance metrics.
iWatch administrators will be able to complete all of their installation and configuration management from a web browser, and view run status and version details across an entire deployment.
DBA teams and other iWatch users will be able to see all of the familiar iWatch metrics, plus summary views that can be customized to highlight a particular set of database servers, or a company-wide deployment. For example, a senior DBA manager responsible for all of an organization’s Sybase servers could set up a view to see which servers are most active by SQL transaction volume, by performance issues, by error rates, and even by custom alerts & alarms. Similarly, a departmental-level DBA for a group of Oracle or SQL Server instances could set up an at-a-glance summary for only those servers for which she was directly responsible.
Commenting on the new offering, the company’s founder Hardev Dhindsa said, “A lot of our customers are monitoring hundreds of database servers, so the web console provides an easy way to get a bird’s-eye view of the whole installation. It also simplifies administration by pulling together essential details such as run status and version information. And it makes it much easier to provide ad hoc access to our performance metrics, since only a browser is required.”
In this initial release, the Web Console is available for Apache Tomcat web servers on Windows only. Support for additional web servers and platforms is planned.
